How to Distinguish the Processing Range of a Wire Stripping Machine and a Copper Wire Granulator

Introduction

In the scrap cable recycling industry, many buyers confuse the applications of a copper wire granulator and a wire stripping machine. Choosing the wrong equipment can reduce recycling efficiency and may even prevent certain materials from being processed properly.

Therefore, buyers should select the right machine based on cable diameter, cable structure, material condition, and required hourly capacity. These factors directly affect processing efficiency and copper-plastic separation results.

Details

A wire stripping machine is more suitable for cables with a larger diameter and a regular structure. It can remove the insulation from standard large-size single-core cables with high accuracy and very low copper loss. Therefore, it is an ideal choice for processing large quantities of straight and uniform thick cables.

However, wire stripping machines have clear limitations. They are less suitable for mixed small cables, tangled wires, curved cables, and multi-strand cables with fine conductors. When processing these materials, a conventional cable stripping machine may operate slowly, fail to remove the insulation completely, or even experience material blockage.

In contrast, a copper wire granulator is designed to process cables that are difficult for wire stripping machines to handle. It is widely used for mixed scrap wires, thin copper wires, tangled cables, fine-strand cables, and other complex waste cables.

The system usually combines crushing, air separation, and gravity separation technology. First, the machine cuts and crushes the scrap cables into small pieces. Then, the separation system separates the copper from the plastic insulation. As a result, a copper cable recycling machine can process a much wider range of mixed and irregular waste cables.

It is also important to note that thick cables with a diameter of around 40 mm, as well as multi-layer and multi-strand cables, do not necessarily require a wire stripping machine. When higher capacity is required, operators can use a copper wire shredder for pre-processing before the material enters the copper wire granulator. This solution can handle large and complex cables more efficiently and offers greater processing flexibility.
